Temporary Housing
Temporary housing is available for the admitted students upon arrival at Carbondale. Temporary housing includes motels and off-campus dorms/halls that are reserved for a short period of 4 to 5 days until the student finds a permanent accommodation. A dormitory style residence hall room can be reserved through our office at a cost of about $20 per night. If you wish to reserve a space, you will need to complete the Temporary Housing Request form and email it to us at oiss@siu.edu as soon as you have received your I-20 and reviewed your housing options. The temporary housing for spring 2010 is from January 8th to January 18th at Boomer Hall - II
You may also opt to stay in local hotels at Carbondale and will need to make your own arrangements. You may visit The Carbondale Convention & Tourism Bureau at www.cctb.org for a listing of hotels in Carbondale. Motels will cost about $50 and we recommend that you contact the following:
